The Industry and Trade sector joins hands to support people in the northern provinces affected by storms and floods.

Responding to the call of General Secretary and President To Lam, with the spirit of providing the "highest and fastest" support to families affected by storms and floods; on the afternoon of September 10, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front organized a launching ceremony to support people affected by storm No. 3. In the spirit of the whole country joining hands to support and promptly provide support to people in the northern provinces that are seriously affected by storm No. 3, on September 11, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized a launching ceremony to support people affected by storms and floods among all leaders, civil servants, public employees, and workers of units under the Ministry.

As of September 18, only cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade have donated a total of 2.6 billion VND . Of which, 1 billion VND was presented by Ms. Nguyen Minh Hue - Chairwoman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Trade Union to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on September 10. On September 17, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang, on behalf of the leaders, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, presented 1.6 billion VND to the Central Relief Mobilization Committee - Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support people affected by storms and floods.

Currently, the donation program is still taking place and receiving the active response and participation of all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Also, from September 12 to 14, a working delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade visited 6 provinces: Cao Bang, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Lao Cai , presenting 15,000 gifts and 5 billion VND to localities directly suffering the severe consequences of storm No. 3.

Responding to the call of the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, many units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade such as: Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, along with its staff and lecturers, sent more than 3.6 billion VND through Tuoi Tre newspaper and 50 million VND through Cong Thuong newspaper; University of Economics and Industrial Technology donated 500 million VND; Hanoi University of Industry donated 100 million VND;...

At the program "Joining hands to support people in flood-hit areas" launched by Cong Thuong Newspaper , from September 12 to 18, organizations, individuals and businesses donated nearly 500 million VND and thousands of items: rice, milk, drinking water, notebooks, moon cakes, instant noodles, warm clothes for children, etc.

In addition, units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade : Industry and Trade Magazine, universities, colleges, departments, institutes, general departments... are continuing to donate and support people affected by storms and floods in the North.

Notably, businesses in the industry and trade sector have donated hundreds of billions of VND to localities affected by storms and floods. Specifically, the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) has deployed a support package of 70 billion VND to help localities and TKV employees overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and its member units, mass organizations, and employees in the Group donated and registered to contribute to support compatriots and oil and gas workers affected by storm No. 3 with a total amount of over 37 billion VND.

Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) has supported organizations and localities affected by the disaster with a total amount of VND12 billion, including VND5 billion through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, VND2 billion through Yen Bai, VND2 billion through Cao Bang and VND2 billion through Son La.

Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) donated 3 billion VND to support Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai provinces to overcome the consequences of severe flooding after storm No. 3 Yagi. The Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) donated nearly 4.7 billion VND to support people. Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1) donated 500 million VND. Power Generation Corporation 2 (EVNGENCO2) donated 800 million VND. Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation donated 1 billion VND to support and help people in provinces affected by storm No. 3.

Vietnam Rubber Industry Group and Vietnam National Tobacco Corporation (Vinataba) each donated VND500 million. Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) and Vietnam Steel Corporation each donated VND300 million.

Vietnam Chemical Group (Vinachem) donated 200 million VND through the Vietnam Fatherland Front. In addition, Vinachem and the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union sent a working delegation to Phu Tho, Lao Cai provinces, and Bat Xat district to present money and chemical products produced by the Group's units such as water treatment chemicals, anti-pollution chemicals, laundry and cleaning products... Up to now, more than 1 billion VND in cash and 500 million VND in products have been presented and the Group has planned to continue to visit the affected provinces to support in the coming time.

The above figures may not fully reflect the efforts and support of the officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in particular, and the entire industry in general. At the same time, it is still very little compared to the damage caused by storm No. 3 to localities and people in the northern provinces. However, “With the fine tradition of the Industry and Trade sector, together with the solidarity, unanimity and high determination of the entire political system and the entire people, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will make great efforts together with the whole country to overcome the damage, support the people of the localities that are suffering losses and damages caused by storms and floods to soon overcome difficulties, restore production and stabilize their lives - as affirmed by Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien in his letter of encouragement, calling for support for people affected by storms and floods.
