The recovery of domestic and cross-border tourism

According to the forecast of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), by the end of 2022, Vietnam's domestic aviation market will fully recover, growing strongly compared to the period in 2019.

Besides, the international market is gradually recovering and growing well, forecast to reach 2019 levels by the end of 2023.

According to forecast data, the total Vietnamese aviation market in 2023 will reach approximately 80 million passengers, an increase of 45.4% compared to 2022 and an increase of approximately 1% compared to the same period before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Also in the first two months of 2023, Vietnamese airlines transported 9.8 million passengers. Thus, an increase of 92% over the same period in 2022, of which domestic tourists reached 7.4 million, an increase of 48% over the same period in 2022, international visitors reached 2.4 million, an increase of 2.4% over the same period in 2022.

Summer is approaching, and demand for foreign travel is expected to continue to rise during this peak season as the foreign tourism industry has just begun to recover a few months after the pandemic.

Offer customers attractive promotions during peak tourist season

UOB credit cardholders and Vietnam Airlines Golden Lotus Plus members can enjoy a range of benefits and privileges under this partnership.

From now until July 31, 2023, Golden Lotus members will be exempted from joining fees and annual fees for the first year, as well as attractive incentives when registering to open a credit card issued by UOB through the cooperation between Vietnam Airlines and UOB Vietnam Bank.

Lotusmiles members at the Million Miles, Platinum, Gold, and Titanium levels can receive up to 15,000 Lotusmiles bonus miles, equivalent to a round-trip flight from Hanoi to Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, when spending at least VND 8 million within the first 60 days from the date the card is successfully approved.

Document requirements for Titan members have also been simplified, requiring only a Citizen Identification Card and Golden Lotus membership card when applying for a UOB credit card.

Under this partnership, PremierMiles credit cardholders issued by UOB Bank can convert reward miles from the Bank to Golden Lotus miles simply.

Bonus miles can be used to redeem flights on Vietnam Airlines and SkyTeam members, as well as services and rewards within the vast ecosystem of the Golden Lotus program.
