Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko met at the Kremlin on April 11. During the talks, the two sides discussed bilateral economic relations and the conflict in Ukraine. Mr. Putin said that economic relations between Russia and Belarus are developing successfully. Regarding the Ukraine issue, President Putin affirmed that Russia has never refused to resolve the conflict peacefully, and that this is what Moscow wants to do. The Russian leader said that the attacks on Kiev's power facilities are part of the process of "demilitarization" of Ukraine. In addition, Ukrainian attacks on oil refineries in various regions of Russia in recent weeks have forced Moscow to respond. (Source: Sputnik)
Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics (right) and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement in Riga on April 11. On social network X, Mr. Zelensky announced: "Latvia has made a 10-year commitment to support Ukraine in cyber defense, mine clearance, unmanned technology as well as support Kiev's accession to the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)." According to the Ukrainian leader, the Baltic country will provide annual military support of 0.25% of GDP to Kiev.
