"Over the past day, the Ukrainian armed forces continued unsuccessful attempts to conduct offensive actions in the directions of Donetsk, south of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia," the statement said.
The Russian Defense Ministry has released several videos and images in recent days showing multiple attacks on Ukrainian manned armored vehicles and tanks from Ka-52 attack helicopters and drones.
Meanwhile, Kiev announced that Ukrainian forces had recaptured three villages in the eastern Donetsk region. "Neskuchne of the Donetsk region is again under the Ukrainian flag," Ukraine's border service said.
Earlier on Sunday, the Ukrainian military said it had captured the nearby village of Blagodatne. Its ground forces released a video showing soldiers raising a Ukrainian flag on a destroyed building.
By late Sunday, Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister Ganna Malyar said Ukrainian forces had retaken a third village, Makarivka, in Donetsk.

In footage released by the Russian Defense Ministry on Saturday, Russian drones showed Ukrainian tanks attacking in the Zaporizhzhia region, where Kiev forces are focusing their counter-offensive.
The Russian Defense Ministry added that Ukraine carried out another unsuccessful attack on a Russian warship in the Black Sea on Saturday evening. The Priazovye was on patrol monitoring Russian natural gas pipelines there.
