New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam, Ms. Tredene Dobson, shared that the F&B industry is a particular success story in the trade relationship between New Zealand and Vietnam, accounting for the majority of export turnover. F&B products exported from New Zealand to Vietnam in 2022 reached a total value of 798 million New Zealand dollars.
The 2023 "Made With Care" retail campaign aims to extend the brand value of New Zealand's outstanding, delicious and healthy food and beverage products to the Vietnamese market. At the same time, the event will also contribute to further promoting the cooperative relationship between New Zealand and Vietnamese partners in this field.
New Zealand has a wide range of delicious, nutritious, safe and sustainable products that are popular across Vietnam. Specifically, apples and kiwis are among New Zealand's largest exports to the Vietnamese market, with a total export value of more than NZD 183.98 million (equivalent to VND 2.6 trillion) in 2022 and are also among the key products introduced in the "Made With Care" retail campaign in 2023.
At the event, the business community, retailers and guests learned about and raised awareness of food and beverage products from New Zealand - a country considered one of the world's famous food producers.
In addition, representatives of NZTE and a number of leading Vietnamese retailers signed a memorandum of understanding, marking an important milestone in facilitating professional exchange and supporting New Zealand companies to access the Vietnamese market.
According to Ms. Giang Nguyen, CEO of NZTE Vietnam, based on the understanding that Vietnamese consumers choose to buy fruit based on their trust in local retailers, NZTE Vietnam, as part of its commitment to the Vietnamese market, promotes cooperation with domestic retailers to bring high-quality products to Vietnamese consumers.
The 2023 "Made With Care" retail campaign is also expected to contribute to strengthening the strong bilateral trade relationship between New Zealand and Vietnam, opening up opportunities for future cooperation and partnerships. This event also creates a platform for many brands and companies from New Zealand to introduce their products to Vietnamese businesses and retailers.
Through this, the business communities of both sides promote long-term relationships in the supply chain such as between producers and distributors, while creating opportunities for New Zealand brands to bring high-quality fruit to Vietnamese consumers.
In particular, with the "Made With Care" retail campaign in 2023, Vietnamese consumers can visit the retail points of Aeon Mall, Central Retail, LOTTE Mart and WinMart in Ho Chi Minh City this June and July to shop and experience products imported from New Zealand.
Also at the event, the New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam, on behalf of the New Zealand Consulate and 10 New Zealand companies, presented charity donation plaques to four non -governmental charities based in Vietnam. This is the third consecutive year that New Zealand businesses have carried out the fruit donation project, bringing 7 tons of fruit and nearly 1,000 liters of milk to children and the elderly in Vietnam.
