According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United will lose £9 million (nearly VND300 billion) in compensation if they fire head coach Erik Ten Hag. This amount is lower than the compensation the Old Trafford team paid coach Jose Mourinho in 2018 but significantly higher than the cases of Louis van Gaal and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Last night (May 24), British newspapers reported that the Dutch coach will be fired after tonight's FA Cup final. Coach Erik ten Hag will lose his job even if they beat Man City to win the FA Cup.
Coach Erik ten Hag has one year left on his three-year contract, which was signed at the start of the 2022/23 season. £9m is the estimated salary for the remainder of the contract.
Ten Hag will receive 9 million in compensation after terminating the contract.
The compensation that Man Utd has to pay Mr. Erik ten Hag could even be reduced. This happens if Man Utd does not participate in European Cup. In addition, the contract between the two parties also has a clause to reduce the salary if certain performance targets are not achieved.
