Asia

YONHAP. ​​At a meeting in Seoul, South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Christopher Cavoli agreed to deepen military cooperation between the two sides.

TEMPO. The Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Information summoned and sent a warning to representatives of social network X, demanding that they thoroughly address concerns related to online gambling advertisements on the platform.

THE NATION. The Royal Thai Air Force will use next year's budget to purchase F-16 fighter jets , medium-range air defense systems and anti-drone technology.

BANGKOK POST. The Thai government plans to deploy 30 cloud seeding aircraft nationwide to create artificial rain to help fight air pollution and ease drought in key farming areas.

THE THAIGER. A total of 149,833 people have signed up for the Interior Ministry's debt relief program in the past three months, with a total debt of 11.09 billion baht ($308 million).

MINT. The Indian Navy, in coordination with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), seized about 3.3 tonnes of drugs and arrested five people from a boat off the coast of Gujarat.

DAILY MIRROR. The Sri Lankan government has decided to stop issuing free long-term visas to Russian and Ukrainian citizens living in the Indian Ocean island nation, Public Security Minister Tiran Alles said.

DAWN. Pakistani lawmakers take the oath of office at the first session of the new Parliament, three weeks after the general election.

WAM. The 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (MC13) in Abu Dhabi, UAE entered its final day (February 29) but there were no signs of any significant breakthrough regarding the deadlocked issues.

IRNA. More than 15,000 candidates from all walks of life in Iran will compete for 290 seats in the 12th parliamentary election and the 6th Assembly of Experts election today, March 1.

IRNA. Russia launched into space the Iranian-made Pars 1 research satellite , weighing 134kg and equipped with 3 cameras.

TASS. In his 19th Federal Address to the Russian Parliament, President Vladimir Putin affirmed that Russia is defending its sovereignty and the decisive role in this just struggle lies in the unity and loyalty of each citizen to the Fatherland.

SPUTNIK. The presence of Western troops in Ukraine in any form will lead to an escalation of tensions in the region, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned.

POLITICO. The Polish government is considering suspending imports of goods from Ukraine amid tensions over grain prices, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.

AFP. The French government wants to push countries to impose a global minimum tax on the super-rich , following the success of the agreement to impose a minimum tax of 15% on multinational companies, which came into effect this year.

BLOOMBERG. $265 million is the amount that Swiss pharmaceutical company Sandoz agreed to pay to settle an antitrust lawsuit over drug pricing in the US.

BBC. The number of visas the UK will grant to foreign migrant workers to work in the health and care sector in 2023 will double compared to the previous year.

AFRICA NEWS. The United Nations has begun withdrawing its peacekeeping force from the Democratic Republic of Congo, ending its 25-year presence amid escalating conflict in the east.

WB. The World Bank (WB) warns that the impacts of climate change could exacerbate poverty, social tension and conflict in Ethiopia.

Oceania

RNZ. Papua New Guinea has formally ratified a defence pact with Indonesia, agreeing to share military information, provide logistical support, coordinate security operations and conduct joint patrols in border areas...
