Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Environmental Expert, Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator, emphasized the role of women in green growth.

Dr. Nguyen Minh Thao said that green production has become a global trend and an inevitable choice. Especially when Vietnam has been participating more and more deeply and widely in bilateral and multilateral trade agreements. This is not only an opportunity to promote and encourage companies and manufacturers to use clean technology, expand markets and enhance the ability to integrate clean technology, but also comes with many challenges such as green policies will be numerous in quantity, complex in nature and continuously evolving over time; there is no common set of green standards, no unified green transition roadmap for all types of export goods; conversion capacity: technology, supply chain control, labor skills, accountability, declaration, and information storage capacity, so it requires raising awareness, capital investment, and management capacity.

In part 2 of the program, delegates participated in the discussion session: Access to green finance, Application of renewable energy and low carbon technology towards green growth. In this discussion session, Mr. Oliver Rowntree, Gender and Inclusive Economy Officer, International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Vietnam, presented solutions and initiatives to support women-owned businesses in the green transition process.

The project aims to promote gender equality, towards sustainable development and support women-led businesses to increase their resilience to the impacts of climate change; Improve knowledge about business models that reduce carbon emissions and use renewable energy; Increase access to finance, connect investors and promote women's economic empowerment.
