Improve communication skills to prevent the harmful effects of tobacco

In his opening speech, Mr. Ngo Thanh Hien - Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Information (Ministry of Information and Communications) emphasized that the effective use and promotion of local media networks to disseminate and promote compliance with the Law on Prevention of Tobacco Harms, especially regulations on smoke-free environments, is the responsibility of those working in grassroots propaganda.

Training aims to equip skills and expertise for staff working in grassroots information work.

This conference aims to improve the quality and further promote the role of the grassroots information team; equip and supplement information on tobacco harm prevention and control; on how to select and exploit information, how to build news bulletins according to the most modern trends, especially for staff in charge of district and commune radio stations. From there, widely propagate to the people to protect themselves, take care of their health, prevent and fight diseases in order to build a healthy, civilized, smoke-free society.

During the 1-day period, the trainees were informed about the prevention and control of the harmful effects of tobacco by Master Tran Thi Thanh Nhan - Ha Tinh Province Center for Disease Control; Journalist Nguyen Tran Anh Thu - Culture - Social Department of Voice of Vietnam Radio Station was instructed on how to create a radio news bulletin following modern trends.
