On the afternoon of December 30, the Ministry of Transport held an online conference to summarize the work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025 of the transport sector.
At Hai Duong bridge point, representatives of relevant agencies, units, departments and offices attended.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the results achieved by the transport sector in 2024.
In the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Transport to continue to perform well the assigned tasks, do a good job of arranging and innovating the leadership and management apparatus from the central to local levels, ensuring streamlining and efficiency. Focus on reviewing, evaluating and developing legal documents to ensure progress and quality, helping to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, minimizing administrative procedures, creating convenience for people and businesses.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the transport sector to be more determined in implementing the remaining tasks of the 2021-2025 period. Improve the quality of transport planning, organize scientific and effective transport methods, create momentum and strength for the comprehensive socio-economic development of the country in the present and the future.
According to the report of the Ministry of Transport, in 2024, the Ministry of Transport started many road, railway and aviation projects according to assigned tasks. Of which, regarding roads, the Ministry started 8 projects, completed and put into operation 7 projects, bringing the total number of expressways nationwide to more than 2,021 km.
The progress of Long Thanh International Airport project and T3 Passenger Terminal project - Tan Son Nhat International Airport is basically guaranteed.
In particular, in 2024, the National Assembly approved the investment policy for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis and the Ministry of Transport is currently implementing the next tasks of this project. During the year, the ministry disbursed more than 60.2/75.5 trillion VND, reaching 80% of the plan, striving to disburse 95% of the plan by the end of the fiscal year.
In 2025, the Ministry of Transport will focus on mobilizing all resources to resolutely implement construction, ensuring progress and quality of projects, especially important national projects, key projects of the transport sector. The Ministry of Transport plans to start 19 transport infrastructure projects and complete 51 infrastructure projects in 2025.
At the conference, leaders of several ministries, sectors and localities reported on the results achieved; pointed out some shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome. At the same time, it was proposed that there should be a mechanism to make aviation a key economic sector; balance resources, and remove traffic bottlenecks.
