Quoc Hoc Hue male student wins the 24th Road to Olympia

(Dan Tri) - Vo Quang Phu Duc won the Olympia laurel wreath for the 24th year and brought the third championship title to Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted.
Vo Quang Phu Duc won convincingly with a score of 220, officially becoming the owner of the gold-plated laurel wreath and a prize worth 50,000 USD, equivalent to about 1.2 billion VND. The runner-up position belonged to Nguyen Nguyen Phu - a male student majoring in Pedagogy. In third place was Tran Trung Kien and in the last place was Nguyen Quoc Nhat Minh. The final match of Road to Olympia 2024 is a competition between 4 male students: Tran Trung Kien (Le Hong Phong High School, Phu Yen), Nguyen Quoc Nhat Minh (Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai), Vo Quang Phu Duc (Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, Thua Thien Hue), Nguyen Nguyen Phu (National University of Education High School for the Gifted, Hanoi). Phu Duc made a strong impression by answering 6/6 questions correctly and earning the maximum score of 60. In the 5th warm-up round for all 4 contestants, Trung Kien continuously won the right to answer, closely following Phu Duc. However, at the end of the warm-up, no one could surpass the male student from Hue. Phu Duc led with 75 points, Trung Kien 50 points, Nguyen Phu 45 points and Nhat Minh 15 points. In the Obstacle Round, right from the first question, when there was no image data, Phu Duc gave the answer Net Zero. The correct answer helped the male student leave the remaining competitors far behind with 135 points. In the Acceleration Round, with 2 fastest answers, Phu Duc widened the gap with 3 competitors, bringing the score to 235, almost double Trung Kien (120 points). In the Finishing Round, Phu Duc competed first because he had the highest score. In the question about the storm tree, Phu Duc changed his answer to "storm", ending the round with a final score of 235. Nguyen Phu won the right to answer and surpassed Trung Kien with 125 points, becoming the second Finishing Round contestant. The male student majoring in Pedagogy chose the 20-30-30 question package and the star of hope in the last question, achieving a total score of 185. In Tran Trung Kien's round, Nguyen Phu seized the opportunity from the English question that Trung Kien could not answer and won 30 points, raising his score to 215, only 20 points away from Phu Duc. Nhat Minh was the last Finishing Round contestant, choosing the 20-20-30 question package. The male student said that the purpose of choosing this package was to give Nguyen Phu and Phu Duc a chance to compete with each other if he could not answer the final question. However, there was no comeback for Nguyen Phu. Phu Duc won the right to answer, although he did not have the correct answer, the score only dropped to 220, maintaining the leading position.
