2025: Hanoi strives to provide vocational training for 240,000 people

(LĐXH) - Hanoi City strives to train 240,000 people by 2025; the rate of trained workers will reach 75%, of which the rate of workers with degrees and certificates will reach 55%.


According to Plan No. 17/KH-UBND of the Hanoi People's Committee on implementing vocational education (VET) in the area in 2025, Hanoi City sets the target: in 2025, VET institutions and establishments with VET activities will provide training for 240,000 people, of which 26,500 are college level, 31,000 are intermediate level, and 182,500 are primary level and under 3 months level.

To achieve the above targets, Hanoi has implemented solutions to build and develop vocational education communication space in the city. Along with that, it continues to implement career guidance and stream students after graduating from junior high school and high school to participate in vocational training.

Organizing the Festival of Connecting Vocational Education in the Capital with the Labor Market in 2025 aims to create favorable conditions for vocational education institutions to approach students at secondary schools, high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers to introduce, promote, advise, and orient careers for secondary and high school graduates to participate in vocational training.

Another solution implemented by Hanoi is to improve the operational capacity of vocational training institutions; accelerate digital transformation in vocational training institutions. In particular, implementing the Project to improve the quality of vocational training in Hanoi for the period 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2025.

At the same time, develop vocational education activities in the digital environment, promote and enhance the application of science and technology, information technology in management, teaching activities, teaching methods, and testing of vocational education institutions applying digitalization in training management and administration of vocational education institutions.

In addition, promote vocational training associated with enterprises, training, retraining, and improving skills for workers in small and medium enterprises; link training with job creation...

Currently, in the city, there are 313 vocational education establishments, establishments with vocational education activities registered for vocational education activities (including 66 colleges, 59 secondary schools, 39 vocational education centers, vocational education - continuing education centers and 131 enterprises, other types).

According to reports from vocational training establishments, in 2024, vocational training was enrolled for 250,000/235,000 people (of which, 36,000 people were college level; 32,000 people were intermediate level; 182,000 people were elementary level and under 3 months), reaching 106.4% of the plan, an increase of 1.6% over the same period in 2023.

The city's enrollment, vocational training and graduation numbers account for 10.3% of the total enrollment and vocational training in the country.

It is known that the vocational training enrollment results for the period 2020 - 2023 exceeded the planned target by 6.14%. The rate of trained workers has increased continuously every year, contributing significantly to providing trained labor for the labor market in the capital and neighboring provinces.

The rate of trained workers increases continuously every year, reaching from 70.25% in 2020 to 73.23% in 2023 (an increase of 2.98%).

In which, the rate of workers with certificates increased from 48.5% in 2020 to 52.5% in 2023 (an increase of 4.0%); Comparison with the national rate shows that: By 2023, the city's trained labor rate is 5.23 percentage points higher and the rate of workers with certificates is 25 percentage points higher than the national average.
