Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 194 countries, upgrading relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Australia, France and Malaysia.

For Nghe An province, in 2024, foreign affairs and international integration will continue to be a bright spot, contributing to the province's socio-economic development. Nghe An has strengthened the Party's foreign relations with countries with traditional relations such as Laos; the Russian Federation; Cuba and some European countries. Economic diplomacy has also seen many changes, opening up new partners and markets such as China, Japan, Australia, etc. In 2024, attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) to Nghe An will reach 1.75 billion USD, total export turnover is estimated at 3.7 billion USD, import turnover will reach 2.2 billion USD.

Maintaining, consolidating and enhancing foreign relations with all countries, especially major countries, neighboring countries and traditional friends. Diplomatic activities must contribute to promoting new productive forces such as new materials, biomedicine, quantum science, new energy, clean energy, etc.
Along with that, the Foreign Affairs sector needs to complete the construction of a streamlined apparatus, take over the apparatus of diplomatic agencies; improve the quality of the diplomatic staff to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation; create a new diplomatic stature, creating favorable momentum for the country to enter the era of national development.
