According to data from the International Trade Center, in the first 6 months of 2023, Norway imported 18.78 thousand tons of coffee from the world, worth 123.4 million USD, up 1.3% in volume, but down 2.7% in value compared to the same period in 2022.

In the first 6 months of 2023, Norway imported mainly coffee, excluding roasted and decaffeinated coffee (HS 090111), with a volume of nearly 15 thousand tons, worth 78.76 million USD, up 1.1% in volume, but down 6.6% in value, accounting for 79.8% of total volume.

Next is roasted coffee, excluding decaffeinated coffee (HS 090121), with a volume of 3.61 thousand tons, worth 42.9 million USD, up 2.8% in volume and 5.2% in value, accounting for 19.24% of total volume.

In the first 6 months of 2023, Norway imported coffee mainly from the markets of Brazil, Colombia, Sweden, and Guatemala. Notably, Norway increased coffee imports from Honduras and Vietnam.

According to the International Trade Center (ITC), Brazil was the largest coffee supplier to Norway in the first 6 months of 2023, with a volume of 7.74 thousand tons, worth 38.51 million USD, up 0.1% in volume, but down 4.8% in value compared to the same period last year.

Brazil's share of coffee in Norway's total imports decreased slightly from 41.76% in the first 6 months of 2022 to 41.24% in the first 6 months of 2023.

Notably, Norway sharply increased coffee imports from Honduras, up 105.3% in volume and 74.6% in value over the same period last year, reaching 626 tons, worth 3.42 million USD.

Honduras' share of coffee in Norway's total imports increased from 1.65% in the first six months of 2022 to 3.33% in the first six months of 2023.

Similarly, Norway sharply increased coffee imports from Vietnam, up 191.6% in volume and 167.4% in value over the same period last year, reaching 256 tons, worth 746 thousand USD.
