Accordingly, the main contractor for the above contract will be Sikorsky - a subsidiary of the defense industry group Lockheed Martin.
According to Defensenews , the Black Hawk is a multi-role helicopter equipped with many of the best features and weapons of the US military. It can fly with or without a pilot.
It is known that this helicopter was first used by the US Army in 1979 to undertake tactical transport functions and is a 4-rotor helicopter using General Electric's T700 twin engines.
The Black Hawk can carry 11 soldiers and 1,200kg of cargo inside or 4,100kg of cargo if hung outside. Not only capable of performing tactical transport missions, the Black Hawk can also participate in electronic warfare missions and evacuate soldiers in case of emergency.
A special version of the Black Hawk is used to transport important members of the US government. In particular, the Black Hawk named Marine One is the helicopter that transports the US President.
When directly participating in combat, the UH-60 Black Hawk is equipped with M240H 7.62 or M134 7.62 mm machine guns or GAU-19 12.7 mm guns, 70 mm Hydra 70 rockets, and AGM-114 Hellfire laser-guided missiles.
In addition, the Black Hawk is equipped with modern electronic devices that increase its ability to survive even when fiercely attacked by the enemy. This helicopter can reach a maximum speed of 295 km/h, a cruising speed of 278 km/h. The maximum operating range is up to 2,200 km.
Not only participating in land missions, Black Hawk is also especially useful for the US Navy and Coast Guard, can operate effectively at sea and easily dock on many different types of warships.
