Important political task
Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 533/UBDT-PC of the Ethnic Committee, dated April 3, 2024 on organizing the Competition to learn about the law on ethnic affairs, 2024 - 2025, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province has issued a Plan on organizing the Competition to learn about the law on ethnic affairs in Dien Bien province, 2024.
Identifying this as an important political task, the People's Committee of Muong Ang district issued Plan No. 180/KH-UBND, dated July 28, 2024, Decision No. 2551/QD-UBND of the People's Committee of Muong Ang district, dated August 20, 2024 on participation, as well as assigning specific tasks to members.
As the host unit, the Ethnic Affairs Department has closely followed the instructions of the Muong Ang District People's Committee, actively coordinated with relevant agencies to select the content for the contest in a focused direction.
Specifically, the Ethnic Affairs Department of Muong Ang district focuses on the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, 2021-2030 period (Phase I from 2021 to 2025), legal provisions in areas directly related to the lives of ethnic minorities, such as: Prevention of social evils; prevention of domestic violence; gender equality; promoting the role of the People in protecting national defense, security, protecting national borders, protecting forests and ecological environment; other policies and laws directly related to ethnic minority and mountainous areas, in accordance with the actual situation of the locality.
After selecting the content, the Delegation to participate in the contest to learn about the law on ethnic affairs in Dien Bien province, 2024 of Muong Ang district was quickly established. The Head of the Delegation held a meeting and assigned specific tasks to the members of the delegation participating in the contest.
With 4 competitions, the Delegation actively organized practice within 10 days (from September 13 to September 23, 2024). The members assigned tasks showed a high sense of responsibility, practiced seriously, invested in researching knowledge, handling situations, relating to reality and memorizing the lines in the skit.
Muong Ang district delegation participated in the contest from September 25 to September 27, 2024, including 23 people (including 1 Head of Delegation, 2 Deputy Heads of Delegation and 20 members).
Muong Ang district won first prize overall
The 2024 contest to learn about the law on ethnic affairs in Dien Bien province attracted the participation of 10 teams with 200 contestants from 10 districts, towns and cities in Dien Bien province.
The teams compete in 4 stages, including: Greeting, legal knowledge, situation handling and propaganda skit. The content is on topical legal topics, practically related to law enforcement in the field of ethnic affairs, focusing on the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, 2021-2030 period.
The teams performed impressive greetings, interesting and attractive skits with traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups according to the characteristics of each district. At the same time, they came up with creative ways to handle situations in the propaganda work of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to ethnic minorities in the most effective way.
Thanks to the careful and elaborate preparation and outstanding performance of the members, the Muong Ang District Team won the first prize overall, with a total score of 93.5 points for the 4 competitions. The Muong Ang District Team also had the best greeting performance.
Participating in the contest has helped members of the Muong Ang District Competition Team in particular and other competition teams in general have the opportunity to improve their awareness and understanding of the field of ethnic affairs, the sense of responsibility of cadres, civil servants, and people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in studying and complying with legal policies. Promote the exchange of experiences, enhance understanding and solidarity among ethnic minorities. At the same time, create opportunities to share good experiences and effective operating models, contributing to improving the effectiveness of propaganda and dissemination of legal education in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Speaking at the contest, Mr. Giang A Dinh, Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Dien Bien province, said: Through the contest, the position, role and effectiveness of each cadre and civil servant directly working on ethnic affairs; cadres and civil servants working on dissemination and education of law, culture, society, information and communication, village and hamlet cadres; Party committees, village and hamlet chiefs, Youth Union, Women's Union, Front Work Committee, prestigious people among ethnic minorities, good workers...
Thereby, promptly propagating, explaining, analyzing, and disseminating policies and guidelines to ethnic minorities and mountainous areas, promoting exchange and learning, enhancing understanding and solidarity among ethnic minorities, sharing good experiences, effective and suitable operating models of districts, towns, and cities in Dien Bien province.
