On September 12, Tuoi Tre Online recorded that in the fields of Thuong Phuoc 1 commune and Thuong Thoi Hau A commune, Hong Ngu district, Dong Thap province, water had entered the fields through open sluices.
Local people have brought nets to the fields to catch aquatic products during the flood season, the most typical of which is linh fish.
However, up to this point, there are still many "dợn" that have not been "out in the field", lying on the shore due to low water, not many fish, there are linh fish but they are not big enough to weigh for traders.
Mr. Le Van No - resident of Thuong Phuoc 1 commune, Hong Ngu district, Dong Thap province - commented that compared to the same period, this year the amount of water in the fields is less, the types of fish caught are also less. On average, about 7-8kg of various types of fish are caught per day, weighed in buckets for traders at 5,000 VND/kg to make fish sauce, on days when the tide is high, only 20kg can be caught.
"There are few fish in the field. I planned to set up 15 traps, but only about 6 have been released into the field, the rest are still on the shore. I will have to wait until the linh fish reach a size that is suitable for eating and weigh 35,000 VND/kg to have income," said Mr. No.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nhung - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hong Ngu district - said that the total rice field area of the district is more than 10,600 hectares, including 15 enclosed plots.
Of which, there are 3 boxes for the third crop production, 2 boxes for complete flood protection, and the remaining 10 boxes for flood discharge. Typically, Thuong Phuoc 1 commune has finished harvesting all the rice and opened the flood discharge sluice to bring water into the fields.
"The highest measurement at Tan Chau station on Tien River on September 5 was 2.3m. Last week, the water level showed signs of decreasing, on September 10, it was 2.27m. So, the water level measured from the field surface up to 1.2-1.3m is accurate.
Currently, the water level is only over 2m (about 1m lower than the same period), so aquatic resources have decreased," said Mr. Nhung.
