On the afternoon of June 25, in Bao Loc City (Lam Dong), there was a heavy rain that lasted for about 1 hour, causing many roads in the area to be cut off by deep flooding. On Le Van Tam Street (Ward 2), the water was more than 1 meter deep, causing many motorbikes to be submerged in the water before they could move.
Not far away, Ky Con Street (Ward 2) was flooded more than 0.5 meters deep, causing two cars to stall while passing through.
Heavy rain and flooding cut off Ky Con and Le Van Tam streets for more than an hour; water also flooded many houses along the road.
More dangerously, at alley 95/38 Ha Giang (Ward 1), a man riding a motorbike was swept away by the water of Ha Giang stream while crossing the road. Fortunately, people nearby were able to pull the man to shore, but the motorbike was swept away by the water. Currently, the authorities are searching for the motorbike that was swept away.
The reason why roads such as Le Van Tam, Ky Con (Ward 2) and Ha Giang (Ward 1, Bao Loc City) are often flooded when it rains heavily is because the drainage system is too small and degraded, so when water flows from all directions, it cannot drain in time and causes flooding.
The heavy rain also caused some alleys on Ha Giang Street (Ward 1), Le Hong Phong Street (Ward 1), Nguyen Cong Tru Street (section through Bao Loc New Market), Huynh Thuc Khang Street (Ward 2), Tran Phu Street (section through Tam Chau, Loc Son Ward) to be flooded from 0.2 - 0.4 m, making traffic difficult.
Previously, heavy rain occurred on the night of June 17, causing Le Van Tam Street and Ky Con Street (Ward 2) to be deeply flooded.
