BTO-On the afternoon of September 7, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue reported on the damage caused by heavy rains in Tanh Linh district in recent days. The consequences have damaged the foundation of Thanh Nien stream bridge in Bac Ruong commune. The estimated damage is about 1.5 billion VND.
Accordingly, from September 1 to 5, in Tanh Linh district, there was prolonged heavy rain, a large amount of water poured into the stream, causing a complete landslide of the Thanh Nien stream bridge abutment downstream with a landslide length of about 5 m.
After the landslide, the District Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control promptly coordinated and directed the People's Committee of Bac Ruong Commune to put up warning signs of bridge collapse, prohibiting motor vehicles and four-wheeled vehicles from passing through to ensure safety and avoid the risk of bridge collapse affecting people's lives. At the same time, they specifically inspected and made a temporary solution, and submitted it to the District People's Committee for consideration and direction.
Regarding this damage, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control also requested the People's Committee of Tanh Linh district to continue directing communes and towns to increase information and warnings to people about rain, floods, and landslides to proactively respond to and handle natural disasters. On the other hand, it directed functional departments to coordinate with localities to ensure drainage on rivers, streams, and canals, promptly repair damaged infrastructure, and ensure traffic safety in the area.
