Hail in Ky Son injured 1 person and severely damaged many houses

The hailstorm occurred this afternoon, April 14, in some localities such as Bao Thang, Bao Nam, Huoi Tu... of the border district of Ky Son. According to known information, the hailstorm caused damage to people, houses and crops.

Mr. Moong Van Loi - Chairman of Bao Thang Commune People's Committee said that the hailstorm affected most households in the commune, including a house in Sao Va village that completely collapsed; Mr. Oc Pho Thang was injured by a falling tile on his head and had to be treated at the commune's Health Station.

"Currently, the villages are making specific statistics on the damage caused by hail. Because the number of households affected is large, and they are located far from the commune center, it is expected that by tomorrow afternoon, April 15, the villages will have specific data to report to the commune People's Committee," Mr. Moong Van Loi added.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district said: The district has received information about hail in some communes on the afternoon of April 14. The most severely damaged are Bao Thang, Bao Nam, Huoi Tu... Currently, localities are counting the damage to have a specific report. For households whose houses collapsed, local authorities promptly supported the families to soon stabilize their lives.

During this season, in mountainous districts, especially in the remote Ky Son district, hail and tornadoes often occur, causing damage to people's property. Therefore, local authorities need to educate people on how to prevent and limit damage./.
