Spanish newspaper Relevo reported that the court rejected coach Jose Mourinho's appeal after he was convicted of tax evasion. The "Special One" must pay a fine of up to 1.5 million euros.

The Portuguese coach's violations took place between 2010 and 2012. That was when Mourinho was in charge of Real Madrid.

In 2018, this coach was fined more than 570 thousand euros and had to pay an additional fee of nearly 900 thousand euros due to problems related to personal income tax.

The court later overturned the ruling regarding the 2010 taxes. However, Mourinho's violations in 2011 and 2012 were still dealt with. The Portuguese coach appealed.

The Special One believes that the tax authorities have misjudged the payments he received under his contract with Real Madrid. According to Mourinho, the payments made by the Bernabeu club to his agent - Jorge Mendes - cannot be considered taxable remuneration.

Mourinho has had a rough time lately. In addition to tax troubles, the Portuguese coach was recently fired by AS Roma after a series of poor results. His relationship with some of the Italian team's players is also said to have been strained, contributing to the departure of the "Special One".

During his two seasons at Roma, Mourinho left a strong impression by helping Roma win their first European title, the 2021/22 Europa Conference League title. The following season, he led Roma to the Europa League final but lost to Sevilla.

According to the Daily Mail, coach Jose Mourinho wants to return to Man Utd to "complete unfinished work". The Portuguese coach led Man Utd from May 2016 to December 2018, winning 3 titles before being fired.
