Moto X50 Ultra revealed in latest promo video
Another post by Motorola on X links the Moto X50 Ultra to the F1 China Grand Prix, which is taking place on April 21. This suggests that Motorola is likely planning to unveil the Moto X50 Ultra around that time. When it launches, it could be limited to the Chinese market before rolling out globally under a different name, possibly under the Edge series, as is typical for the company. For example, in 2023, after first launching the Moto X40 in China, the company slightly tweaked the international version of the product to launch as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro. If so, it wouldn't be surprising if the Moto X50 Ultra is called the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra when it launches globally.
Recent rumors suggest that the Moto X50 Ultra will feature a 4,500 mAh battery, with support for 125W wired fast charging and 50W super fast wireless charging. However, the highlight of the product is the AI features - something Samsung has focused heavily on when promoting its new Galaxy smartphones. While Motorola hasn't revealed the details of what makes the Moto X50 Ultra an AI phone, it wouldn't be surprising to see features like text summarization, live translation, and AI-based photo editing tools.
The specifications of the product are still being kept under wraps, but it is safe to assume that this device will outperform the Motorola Edge Plus 2023 in some aspects. Interestingly, there has never been an Ultra version in the X-series so far, making this the first X model to have that moniker. AI seems to be dominating the smartphone launches this year, going beyond the innovations seen last year.
