From the 2024-2025 school year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT) will launch a "Student Support Fund" with a total value of 13 billion VND per year. Students in difficult circumstances will be considered to "borrow money" from this fund to pay tuition without having to pay interest.
The term of the tuition support loan is calculated from the date the student begins to receive the money until the date of final repayment of the borrowed amount in each stage. The maximum term for final repayment of student loans is two years from the date the student completes the school's standard full-term study plan.
Students who borrow money to pay tuition fees must commit to graduating according to the standard study plan for the entire course. In case of force majeure, students can graduate late but not more than 6 months according to the standard study plan and must submit an explanation and be approved by the school.
This is the program that HUFLIT implemented during the opening ceremony on the morning of September 25. Also at the opening ceremony, the school announced a scholarship fund for students in the 2024-2025 school year worth 11 billion VND.
On this occasion, the school awarded two scholarships worth 50% of the full course tuition to the two top students and 36 scholarships worth 25% of the full course tuition to the top students of the major. This scholarship is granted for the first year, with conditions to maintain the scholarship in the following years.
In addition, HUFLIT also offers many scholarships for new students such as companionship scholarships, experience scholarships, steady-step scholarships... with a total value of 2.3 billion VND. Of which, the foreign language - information technology course scholarship has a total value of 900 million VND.
On this occasion, the school also received a certificate of accreditation for the Oriental Studies training program from the Center for Education Quality Assessment - Ho Chi Minh City National University.
Students don't waste time
Sharing with new students at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - HUFLIT principal - said: Each of us born into this life is given an extremely precious gift - that is time.
But this gift is not endless. Everyone's time budget is limited. Therefore, please cherish your time. Spend the best years of your youth to study, practice and develop yourself in the best way.
"Always remember, time passed will never come back. Every day, every hour, every minute are moments that we can never get back. So, use them meaningfully.
Set yourself clear goals and plans. Don't waste time on useless things. Find your life's mission, and live so that each day brings value and meaning" - Mr. Tuan sent a message to new students.
