On the morning of June 27, Nguyen Quang Dai, a student at Phu My High School (Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province), was driving a 50cc motorbike to take an exam, but then crashed straight into an electric pole on the side of the road, causing him to lose consciousness.
Dai was supported by people after the traffic accident.
Dai was assisted by two monks from Dai Tong Lam Pagoda to be taken to Phu My town's medical center. Based on the information on the exam notice, the medical center's nurse contacted the exam site to inform Dai of his situation.
Due to severe injuries, including a broken shoulder, leg, and head injury, Dai was unable to take the high school graduation exam. Dai was also taken to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) by his family for further treatment.
It is known that as soon as receiving the information, the local authorities contacted the candidate's family and assigned the police to clarify the accident.
The Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that based on the regulations of the high school graduation exam, the department will make recommendations to ensure the rights of candidates. In this case, if the candidate's academic performance and conduct for the entire year in grade 12 are both good or better, he or she will be eligible for special consideration for high school graduation. The DET will support the school in completing the application for special consideration for the candidate.
Even if they do not take the high school graduation exam, candidates can still apply for university or college admission based on their academic records or competency assessment test results.
