On February 18, a source from SOS Phu Quoc General Clinic (Kien Giang) said that they were treating patient TTMH (55 years old, residing in Duong Dong Ward, Phu Quoc City) who was bitten by a dog with multiple injuries.
According to Dr. Phuong Tuyet Nga, who directly examined the patient, Ms. H. came to the clinic at 9:30 a.m. the same day with many bites on her right wrist, right hand, face and many scratches on her legs. Upon examination, it was found that the patient's blood pressure was high, her body temperature was normal, and she appeared anxious and panicked.

The medical team urgently cleaned and stitched the patient's wound with a total of 35 stitches. They then injected anti-rabies serum and prescribed medication.
After completion, the doctor asked the patient to stay for another 30 minutes for observation, then sent him home, and scheduled him to return 3 days later for the second injection according to the rabies prevention regimen.
Ms. H. said that a few years ago, she and her husband raised a dog (a hybrid of a Phu Quoc dog and a Belgian Shepherd) and kept it chained up carefully in the yard. Currently, the dog weighs more than 30 kg.
Normally, Ms. H.'s husband is responsible for feeding the dog. This morning, her husband left for work early, so Ms. H. went in to feed him. Suddenly, the dog rushed out, scratched and bit her. Ms. H. ran away but unfortunately encountered an obstacle so she couldn't escape in time and was bitten many times.
Immediately after being bitten by her dog, Ms. H. was taken to SOS Phu Quoc Clinic by a neighbor for treatment. "Luckily, my health is good, but if it had happened to someone with poor health, I don't know what the consequences would have been," Ms. H. said.
