Mr. Pham Manh Thang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrolimex Commercial Joint Stock Bank (PG Bank - PGB) has just signed a Resolution on changing the commercial name.
Specifically, the bank changed its current Vietnamese name from "Petrolimex Joint Stock Commercial Bank" to "Prosperity and Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank".
Abbreviation changed from "PG Bank" to "PGBank".
That is, from "Petrolimex Group Commercial Joint Stock Bank" to "Prosperity And Growth Commercial Joint Stock Bank".
This Resolution officially comes into effect from November 20, 2023.
According to the bank, the trade name and logo the bank is using are associated with PG Bank's previous major shareholder, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex).
After Petrolimex divested from PG Bank and is no longer a major shareholder, Petrolimex requested PG Bank to stop using the trademarks owned by Petrolimex before December 31, 2023. Therefore, changing the bank's trade name and new brand identity is necessary to suit the current situation and restructuring orientation of the bank.
PGBank also approved the change of headquarters location to HEAC Building No. 14-16 Ham Long, Phan Chu Trinh Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City.
It is known that recently the senior leadership of this bank has been constantly changing.
On October 23, PGBank elected a new Board of Directors consisting of 6 members: Mr. Pham Manh Thang, Mr. Dao Phong Truc Dai, Ms. Dinh Thi Huyen Thanh, Mr. Dinh Thanh Nghiep, Mr. Vuong Phuc Chinh, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam (Independent Board Member).
Also on October 23, Mr. Pham Manh Thang was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Dao Phong Truc Dai was elected Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Pham Manh Thang - New Chairman of the Board of Directors of PGBank was born in 1962, previously Deputy General Director of Vietcombank.
On November 17, PGBank's Board of Directors also officially appointed Ms. Dinh Thi Huyen Thanh (born in 1981) as a member of the Board of Directors and General Director of the bank.
