Nam Phong was born into a family with a rich tradition of three generations of artists: His mother is a choreographer, Meritorious Artist Quynh Lan, and his grandfather, Meritorious Artist Vu Lan, is a famous choreographer and musician.

Before being crowned champion of Familiar Faces 2022 duet version, Nam Phong also participated in singing, acting at school and some competitions and programs in Hanoi .

A year after winning the title of Familiar Faces 2022, Nam Phong grew taller and his voice began to break when he was just 13 years old. Nam Phong's life also had positive changes in artistic direction.

At the same time, he pursued two passions: singing and dancing because he wanted to explore his full potential, instead of just limiting himself to music .

Nam Phong shared that right after leaving the Familiar Faces competition, he officially entered the intermediate level of Dance Actor at the Vietnam Dance Academy and the intermediate level of Vocal Music at the Hanoi College of Arts.

Thanks to his love for dance, even though he had only studied for a year, Nam Phong confidently registered for Vietnam Dance Week . He was one of the few contestants who registered for three solo and group competitions in two categories: Contemporary dance and ethnic folk dance.

In all 3 competitions, Nam Phong achieved high results: A prize (Work Hoa Vang , choreographer: Tran Ly Ly) and B prize (Work Transform , choreographer: Le Phuong Anh), C prize (Work Cuoi Gia , choreographer: Hai Truong).

Last November, the champion of Familiar Faces 2022 made another memorable mark when he took on the lead role in the purely Vietnamese musical The Five-Colored Stone directed by Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh - Deputy Director of the Youth Theater.

The work tells the story of "tin soldier" Thien Nhan, who after being abandoned, losing a leg, was adopted by journalist Tran Mai Anh and the journey the boy went through many major surgeries to have a complete body.

Being in puberty, Nam Phong also encountered certain difficulties when pursuing his passion for music. Nam Phong said that there were times when he panicked because the day before he sang well, but after a night's sleep, his voice suddenly became hoarse and lost pitch, seriously affecting his singing.

However, thanks to serious practice, Nam Phong still sings well and passed the specialized vocal exams.
