On August 30, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Van Giang District (Hung Yen) held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition of the district meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023 and a meeting to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the district's re-establishment (September 1, 1999 - September 1, 2024).

Implementing Decree No. 60/1999/ND-CP dated July 24, 1999 of the Government on administrative boundary adjustment, on September 1, 1999, Van Giang district was re-established. After 25 years of re-establishment, with the solidarity, consensus, joint efforts and unanimity of cadres, party members and people of all walks of life, Van Giang district has achieved many great achievements in socio-economic development, new rural construction, state budget collection, urban development, and improved people's lives, contributing significantly to the overall development of the province.
Authorized by the Prime Minister, Comrade Tran Quoc Van, Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee, awarded the Certificate of recognition for the district meeting advanced NTM standards in 2023 to the Party Committee, government and people of Van Giang district.
In 2023, the growth rate of production value in the district will reach 16.2%; the revenue per hectare of cultivated land will reach nearly 443 million VND, nearly 36 times higher than in 2000; the average gross product value per capita will reach over 152 million VND, more than 35 times higher; the state budget revenue will be more than 3,500 times higher than in the first year of re-establishment; the poverty rate will always be the lowest in the province...
The district's cultural and social fields have developed comprehensively. 100% of schools have been recognized as meeting national standards; 100% of villages and neighborhoods have achieved and maintained the title of cultural villages and neighborhoods; the rate of people participating in health insurance has reached 98.2%.
Social security work, care for policy families, people with revolutionary contributions, and vulnerable groups in society have received attention and contributions from all levels and sectors. Local military and defense work has been maintained; political security, order, and social safety have been ensured...
Up to now, the district Party Committee has 35 grassroots party organizations with over 5,000 party members... The district has strengthened the work of Party building and government building.
In the period of 2019-2023, the total investment capital for building advanced new-style rural districts in the district reached over 3,200 billion VND. By the end of 2023, the district will have no outstanding debts for basic construction in building advanced new-style rural districts. Up to now, 100% of the traffic system in the district has been built and upgraded according to the plan, meeting the criteria and being maintained annually.
The district has established flower, ornamental and fruit growing areas applying high technology in production, bringing in an average revenue of 400 - 700 million VND/hectare/year. Up to now, 100% of communes in the district have been recognized as meeting advanced NTM standards; 7/10 communes have been recognized as meeting model NTM standards. The district has been recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting advanced NTM standards in 2023.
On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Nghia presented the Party Committee, government, and people of Van Giang district with a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hung Yen Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia praised the achievements and efforts of Van Giang district after 25 years of re-establishment, especially the achievement of becoming the first district in the province to meet the standards of an advanced NTM district.
The Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee requested that in the coming time, Van Giang district needs to continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, joint efforts, and consensus to maintain and improve the quality of the criteria for advanced new-style rural districts; coordinate with departments and branches to speed up the completion of zoning plans and detailed plans according to the provincial and district planning; continue to shift the economic structure associated with renewing the growth model based on the urban economy, trade - services and industry; focus on solving bottlenecks, especially in site clearance, land acquisition, and resettlement to serve the implementation of public investment projects in the area; increase public investment along with promoting the attraction of foreign investment and private investment in urban area investment projects, modern housing, meeting the criteria of type III and type II urban areas; strictly handle violations in the fields of land, investment, construction, etc.
It is necessary to continue to pay attention to and develop culture and society, ensuring social progress and justice; focus on strengthening national defense work, ensuring social order and safety; innovate the Party's leadership method, and strengthen Party rectification work...
At the ceremony, authorized by the Prime Minister, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Yen province Tran Quoc Van awarded the Certificate of recognition of the district meeting the advanced NTM standards in 2023 to the Party Committee, government and people of Van Giang district; awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 6 collectives, 1 household and 10 individuals in the district with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to build NTM in the period of 2021 - 2025"; awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 3 collectives and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the re-establishment of Van Giang district (September 1, 1999 - September 1, 2024).
