At this time, Tet chrysanthemum growers in Dak Lak province have completed planting seedlings. People are actively taking care of the flowers, using electric lights all night to "wake up the flowers" to ensure the flowers bloom in time for the Lunar New Year 2025.

Mr. Vo Duy Tung's family (Tan Hoa commune, Buon Don district, Dak Lak province) has planted 850 large and small pots of chrysanthemums to serve the Tet market.

Mr. Tung said that about a week after planting, flower growers begin watering, fertilizing and installing a night lighting system so the flowers do not "sleep".

This technique of using electric lights for chrysanthemums during Tet is applied by his family in the process of growing and caring for flowers, helping to maintain continuous light and stimulate the growth of chrysanthemums.

Thanks to the stable light source, flower pots always receive enough energy to photosynthesize, grow and bloom at the right time.

In addition, Mr. Tung always tries to update his knowledge and new techniques to improve the quality of his flower garden. Thanks to meticulous care from planting to selling, in recent years, his family's flower garden has always been sought after by traders inside and outside the province.

With many years of experience in growing Tet flowers, Mr. Tran Cuong (Ea Ral commune, Ea H'leo district, Dak Lak province) said that applying the technique of lighting flowers with electric lights at night will help the plant grow to a height of 60 - 80 cm, with large flowers, thick petals, bright colors and longer lasting.

On the contrary, if Tet flowers are grown using the usual method, without using electric light, the top of the plant will not grow high and will only reach a height of about 40 cm, and the flowers will not bloom at the exact time that the gardener wants.

Chrysanthemum growers in localities of Dak Lak province use light bulbs to regulate the growth process of the plants, so that the chrysanthemums bloom in time for the Lunar New Year 2025.

This year, Mr. Cuong’s family planted 1,000 pots of crystal chrysanthemums, including 400 large pots and 600 small pots. Previously, his family’s Tet flower garden often had problems with flowers blooming at the wrong time for Tet.

However, in recent flower crops, thanks to the application of night lighting techniques, he has been able to adjust the appropriate time for the plants to bloom simultaneously.

“Investing in a wiring system and light bulbs is a bit expensive, but once spent, it can be used for many years. In particular, the night-time lighting technique helps my family's flower garden become more even and beautiful, thereby increasing the profit,” Mr. Cuong shared.

At this time, in the Tet flower garden of Mr. Phan Tran Quoc Son (Tan Tien ward, Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province), hundreds of light bulbs are strung up, creating a sparkling, bright scene on the flower fields.

Mr. Son said that to regulate the growth of the plants, he uses small light bulbs from 10 - 20W. On average, every 3 rows of flower pots/beds will be arranged with 5 - 6 light bulbs, about 1.5 - 2 m apart and hung 1 m higher than the flower pots.

The lighting time for flowers usually starts from 8pm to 4am the next morning. When the flowers reach the bud stage, he will stop lighting to ensure the flowers bloom in time for Tet. This time is very important, deciding the success or failure of the flower grower.

In addition to serving the growth of Tet chrysanthemums, Mr. Son is planning to create more interesting "check-in" spots in his flower garden by hanging lights at night.

Through observation, he realized that when the lighting system was turned on, the sparkling, brilliant scene of lights attracted the attention of many people. Therefore, he will arrange photo areas so that people can visit and freely create beautiful photos.

“This year’s Tet flower season, in addition to planting crystal chrysanthemums like every year, I also boldly tried planting some raspberry chrysanthemums to serve the flower-playing needs of consumers. Hopefully, this year’s weather will be favorable, helping people have a bumper crop and a warm, full Tet,” Mr. Son confided.
