"The Party opens the way, the people open their hearts"
The family of Mr. Nguyen Van Hai in Dong Chac hamlet is one of the typical households in the land donation movement for road construction in Tan Hoa commune (Dong Phu district, Binh Phuoc). In 2021, when the commune government informed about the construction of route No. 2 - one of the 5 key routes connecting DT741 to Dong Phu - Binh Duong road and Nam Dong Phu Industrial Park expansion, Mr. Hai's family voluntarily donated nearly 1 hectare of land and more than 515 rubber trees being harvested to build the road.
Mr. Hai shared: For farmers, every inch of land is gold, but I determined that building roads is also to serve the travel needs of my family, the people in the hamlet and the commune, making it more convenient, gradually improving the quality of life. Therefore, as soon as the commune publicized the project, I highly agreed with the policy and agreed to donate land and cut trees to build roads.
Mr. Le Minh Truong, Dong Xe hamlet, Tan Hoa commune (Dong Phu, Binh Phuoc) dismantled the dome and trees on the road corridor to construct the inter-commune road project from Tan Hoa to Tan Loi.
Mrs. Noi Thi Uyen is also one of the pioneers in this movement. Mrs. Uyen excitedly said: As a party member, I always determine that I must be exemplary, take the lead in movements to set an example for the people in the hamlet. Therefore, as soon as the road construction policy was announced, I donated nearly 5 sao of land and cut down all the crops on the land to hand over the land to build a traffic route to help people travel more conveniently. Wherever the State needs, I will donate land there. With a wide road, traveling and doing business in the future will certainly be more convenient.
Not only Mr. Hai and Mrs. Uyen's families, many other households were also ready to cut down trees, donate land, and demolish structures so that the project could be constructed soon. And today, on the land that the people donated, there are 5 spacious roads. With an average length of 4.2-7.9km, width of 42-61m, and a total investment of more than 150 billion VND, the great value that the project brings to the people is immeasurable.
On the occasion of the recent Giap Thin Lunar New Year, the people of Tan Hoa commune were excited when the traffic route No. 3, the section passing through Dong Chac hamlet, was officially put into use. The 42m wide road, with 2 lanes, has been paved with asphalt, fully equipped with traffic signs and lighting systems. Along with that, the 2m wide median strip is planted with trees with flowers starting to bloom. This is the result of the people's consensus in donating land to open the road.
The inter-commune road from Tan Hoa to Tan Loi, Dong Phu district (Binh Phuoc) has been upgraded and expanded.
Together to build the homeland
In Dong Xe hamlet, the project to upgrade and expand the inter-commune road from Tan Hoa to Tan Loi has also completed phase 1. The project has 729 plots of land with an area of 19.32 hectares of organizations and households that must be recovered. Tan Hoa commune alone has 385 plots of land belonging to 250 households. However, despite losing land and property, most people happily accept it.
Mr. Le Minh Truong in Dong Xe hamlet said: When the government mobilized to reclaim land to widen the road and dismantle the construction, all the affected people met to discuss. At first, some people were hesitant and considered. But after thinking about it, if we kept demanding compensation, we don't know when we would have a wide, spacious road to travel on, so we all agreed to follow the commune's policy. If the policy is correct and in line with the people's wishes, we will immediately respond.
The key point that helped the campaign to donate land for road construction in Tan Hoa achieve high results was that the locality promoted democracy. All project information was public and transparent; the locality organized meetings to listen to the opinions, thoughts and aspirations of the people. For households that did not agree, the government, in collaboration with prestigious people in the community, actively persuaded and analyzed thoroughly.
Local leaders directly attended meetings with the Party cells of hamlets, identified each road that needed to be expanded to come up with solutions, closely followed the locality to grasp the thoughts and aspirations, and persuaded people to trust and follow. At the same time, "going to every alley, knocking on every door" to propagate the purpose, meaning, and practical benefits for people when expanding the road. With a flexible approach, from 2021 to now, the people of Tan Hoa commune have donated more than 25 hectares of land, about 11,000 trees, and many valuable works and architectural structures attached to the land.
The right policy, clear objectives, good methods, exemplary cadres and party members have contributed to the movement of donating land to open roads in Tan Hoa commune to take place vigorously and spread widely. The spacious, neat and clean roads not only help people travel conveniently but also open up many opportunities for people to develop the economy, improve their material and spiritual life, contributing to the development of Tan Hoa.
