According to the Mong Cai International Border Gate Management Board, during the National Day holiday on September 2, border gates and crossings in Mong Cai City still operated normally. The functional forces of the border gate sector have arranged people and vehicles to ensure smooth import-export activities. During the holiday, more than 18,000 tons of import-export goods passed through the border gates and crossings in the area.
Specifically, from August 31 to September 3, there were 18,105 tons of import and export goods passing through Bac Luan II Border Gate and the temporary pontoon bridge opening at Km3+4 Hai Yen.
At Bac Luan II Bridge Border Gate, there were 983 vehicles carrying 13,855 tons of goods, including 8,499 tons of imported goods and 5,356 tons of exported goods.
At the Km 3+4 Hai Yen opening, there were 187 vehicles carrying 4,250 tons of goods. Of which: Fresh fruits, dried fruits 558 tons, tapioca flour 457 tons; Frozen seafood 2,876 tons; Dried seeds and other goods 120 tons; Shrimp, crab, live fish 239 tons. Imported goods reached 248 tons.
During the holidays, Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch has arranged forces at work positions to ensure customs clearance of goods, handle work and procedures for vehicles and people entering and exiting the country; ensure smooth operation of the professional system, proactively handle arising issues and report on the holiday duty situation according to regulations.
In particular, the Department strengthens management and risk control for entry and exit luggage, goods traded and exchanged by border residents through Bac Luan I border gate; management of tourist entry and exit activities.
From the beginning of the year to August 28, Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch processed more than 58,100 declarations, up 41% over the same period. Import-export turnover reached more than 2.5 billion USD, up 24% over the same period, of which export turnover reached more than 1.57 billion USD; import turnover reached more than 951.4 million USD.
Total state budget revenue from import-export activities by August 28, 2024 reached VND 1,573 billion, an increase of 54.5% over the same period in 2023; reaching 98.3% of the assigned state budget revenue target.
Currently, there are 1,090 enterprises carrying out import and export procedures at Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch, an increase of 262 enterprises compared to the same period last year.
