Officially expanding into the frozen food sector
With its first product being Japanese-style Gyoza dumplings filled with pork and chicken, Ajinomoto confirmed that it will expand its frozen food business in the Vietnamese market.
Loved in 30 countries and territories around the world, over the past 50 years, dumplings are believed to have originated in China, through the Silk Road, the product was introduced and popularized into a traditional Japanese dish (commonly known as Gyoza dumplings).
Gyoza, a Japanese dumpling product of the Ajinomoto Group, was first introduced in 1972.
After more than 50 years of continuous improvement and development, today, Ajinomoto Gyoza is the number 1 brand in Japan. Every year, this product consumes about 500 million pieces in more than 30 countries and territories around the world such as the US, Europe, Asia, and Southeast Asia.
Ajinomoto Vietnam's Gyoza products are manufactured and imported from a factory in Thailand, which distributes Gyoza products to European markets and Southeast Asian countries.
In particular, the secret to the deliciousness of Gyoza Ajinomoto is: The balanced ratio between lean meat and fat; using a specialized meat grinding method that does not affect the delicious structure of the meat and a quick mixing method between meat and vegetables for a delicate delicious taste.
“This year, we have launched more products that not only meet local needs and tastes, but also support consumers' physical and mental health.
Most recently, we officially expanded into the frozen food segment - the first product is Japanese-style Gyoza dumplings, with the desire to bring consumers pure Japanese culinary experiences right at home, as well as contribute to consumers' nutrition in modern lifestyles" - General Director of Ajinomoto Vietnam Company, Mr. Tsutomu Nara shared.

Persistent in the goal of bringing quality products and valuable initiatives to Vietnamese people
The Maternal and Child Nutrition Program and the School Meals Project help millions of Vietnamese people benefit from nutritional health. |
On August 22, General Director of Ajinomoto Vietnam Company Tsutomu Nara shared: “In April 2023, Ajinomoto Vietnam announced its new Philosophy Model and Purpose of Existence.
However, this has always been Ajinomoto's business philosophy throughout its 33 years of establishment. And we have always strived to promote activities to contribute to bringing quality products and valuable initiatives to the Vietnamese people."
In addition to launching nutritional products suitable for the health and habits of consumers in the modern lifestyle mentioned above, Mr. Tsutomu Nara affirmed that Ajinomoto Vietnam is constantly implementing initiatives to create shared values, contributing to improving nutrition and health, while minimizing the impact on the environment and contributing to sustainable agriculture.
It is known that the Maternal and Child Nutrition Program and the School Meal Project are still being implemented on a large scale by Ajinomoto Vietnam. The Maternal and Child Nutrition Program has been widely implemented in obstetrics and pediatrics hospitals and obstetrics and pediatrics departments of general hospitals in 54 provinces and cities across the country.
Typically, at the Central Maternity Hospital (Hanoi), the contents of the Maternal and Child Nutrition Program are implemented by the hospital through prenatal classes, during examination and consultation for mothers, and through the hospital's communication activities.
To date, more than 17,500 health workers and over 1 million mothers nationwide have accessed and used the program's content to take care of their own nutritional health and that of their children.
The School Meals Project has been implemented in more than 4,300 primary boarding schools in provinces and cities nationwide, providing nutritionally balanced meals and educating nutritional knowledge about food to more than 1.9 million students.
From the end of 2023, the School Meals Project will move to phase 2, expanding the target audience of the Nutritionally Balanced Menu Building Software. Previously, this software was only available to boarding primary schools with on-site kitchens.
However, many elementary schools do not have on-site kitchens, so students' lunches are often prepared by industrial catering units.
In phase 2 of the project, the Project Board discussed with these schools to introduce and guide the use of the Nutritional Balance Menu Building Software from the School Meals Project to the industrial catering units that the school is cooperating with.
