Cataract surgery using high-tech phaco soft lens for more than 300 poor patients

On June 17-18, the Hoai An District Association (Binh Dinh) coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Support of Poor Patients and medical units to organize cataract surgery using high-tech phaco soft lens surgery for 300 poor patients in the district.

This is a program organized by the Association of Hoai An District (Binh Dinh), the Association of Binh Dinh in Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with the Association for Supporting Poor Patients of Ho Chi Minh City, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (Ho Chi Minh City), Tay Nam Eye Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) and Hoai An District Medical Center... to organize screening and cataract surgery using high-tech phaco soft lens for 300 poor patients in Hoai An district.

According to Mr. Do Thanh Hung - Chairman of Binh Dinh compatriots in Ho Chi Minh City, this is a program sponsored by the Hoai An compatriot association to bring light to poor patients in Hoai An district. In two days, doctors and nurses examined and performed free eye surgery for 300 cases. The program was widely announced to the district's people in advance and local commune health stations will examine and refer patients needing eye surgery to the Hoai An District Medical Center.

The program had the participation of 15 medical staff from Ho Chi Minh City, including 7 doctors. The total cost of the program was about 500 million VND, sponsored by Binh Dinh compatriots - Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Support of Poor Patients, Binh Dinh Doctors Club and Hoai An compatriots - Ho Chi Minh City.
