Talking to Dan Tri reporter, Minh Du said that Tet is an occasion filled with many emotions in his heart. In previous years, when he was still worried about "making a living", he had to go on a long trip to perform on New Year's Eve. At moments when he should have been with his family, the actor was wandering around the streets, making him feel sad.

"The Western provinces usually set off fireworks to celebrate New Year's Eve earlier, so around 10pm, after the show, I moved back to Ho Chi Minh City. Looking at the deserted streets, past 12:30pm and still not home, I wanted to cry.

That's why, in recent years, I only perform plays on stage to serve the audience, and no longer perform on New Year's Eve to spend time with my family," Minh Du said.

Minh Du also shared that when he was young, he did not live with his parents but was raised by his grandmother, so he cherished the moments when his family gathered together. Therefore, the films made by Minh Du often talk about family, bringing real experiences from his own life.

This year, Minh Du released Nha cua Ti 3 - a short film about the love between loved ones in a family. The actor hopes that his work will help many people understand that Tet is about gathering with loved ones.

Talking about his work, Minh Du said he was quite hesitant about making it, because the filming cost was up to hundreds of millions of dong.

"There was a night when I stayed up until 4am, texting my manager because I wanted to... stop filming even though it was only a week away. But I thought I had to do it, I couldn't ignore meaningful things. That urged me," he said.

Talking about his family, actor Minh Du said that his father worked as a TV repairman, and his mother worked as a janitor. He affirmed that he has never felt sorry for his parents' jobs, because it was these jobs that raised him and allowed him to go to school.

"I see my parents as superheroes. My father once designed battery-powered fans for me, which amazed my friends and made me very proud. My mother also often collected good books for me to read. Those things are the motivation for me to care for my parents more," said actor Minh Du.

On this occasion, Minh Du also revealed that he is in the process of completing his master's thesis in Vietnamese Literature at Van Hien University (HCMC). The actor said that he chose to pursue a master's degree to gain more knowledge and experience, as well as more vocabulary to apply to his acting.
