Milan win in match where 15-year-old prodigy sets record

VnExpressVnExpress26/11/2023

Italy Francesco Camarda became the youngest player to play in Serie A, when AC Milan defeated Fiorentina 1-0 in round 13 of Serie A on November 25.

The storm of injuries in the attack has caused Milan to lose three strikers: Olivier Giroud, Rafael Leao and Noah Okafor. Coach Stefano Pioli therefore had to call up the young prodigy Camarda to the first team, to welcome Fiorentina. The player is only 15 years and 260 days old, making Serie A history, as the youngest player to enter the field in the history of the tournament. The old record belonged to Bologna center-back Wisdom Amey in 2021, at 15 years and 274 days old.

Camarda is only 15 years old but already has more than 30,000 followers on Instagram, thanks to his sensational performances at youth level with more than 400 goals, an efficiency of 4-6 goals per game. When Camarda replaced Luka Jovic in the 83rd minute of the match against Fiorentina, Milan were being pressed by the visitors. The home team allowed Fiorentina to shoot 17 times in the second half, but still maintained the score 1-0 until the end of the match.

Before that, Milan played well in the first 45 minutes and took the lead at the end of the half. Fabiano Parisi fouled Theo Hernandez in the penalty area in extra time and the French defender himself successfully kicked the penalty to score the only goal of the match. The victory helped Pioli's team end a four-match streak of draws and losses in Serie A, thereby reducing the gap with Inter at the top of the table to three points.

Behind Milan in the top four are Napoli, who beat Atalanta 2-1 shortly after changing managers. Manager Walter Mazzarri made a smooth start to his second spell at the club after 10 years, despite leaving key striker Victor Osimhen on the bench. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave Napoli the lead late in the first half, before Elif Elmas sealed the score for the visitors in the 79th minute.

The victory helped Napoli gain 24 points after 13 rounds, ranking fourth. Mazzarri's team widened the gap with fifth-placed Atalanta to five points and seven points behind top-ranked Inter Milan.
