Pig price today 10/20

* The live pig market in the North increased by 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

In particular, some localities including Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Lao Cai and Hanoi increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the price of pork to about 49,000 - 50,000 VND/kg.

In Yen Bai and Hung Yen, traders are trading at 49,000 and 51,000 VND/kg, respectively, after increasing by 2,000 VND/kg.

Currently, pork prices in Vinh Phuc and Thai Binh have increased by 3,000 VND/kg, to 51,000 and 52,000 VND/kg, respectively.

* The price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions increased or decreased by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Specifically, the two provinces of Ha Tinh and Binh Dinh both increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, to 49,000 VND/kg.

After increasing by 2,000 VND/kg, traders in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An purchased live pigs at 49,000 and 50,000 VND/kg, respectively.

Meanwhile, 47,000 VND/kg is the lowest pork price in the region recorded in Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan, after a decrease of 2,000 VND/kg.

* The southern pig market fluctuated in opposite directions compared to yesterday.

Accordingly, some localities including Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Tien Giang and Can Tho raised the transaction price to about 49,000 - 52,000 VND/kg, after increasing by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg.

On the other hand, traders in Binh Duong and Vung Tau slightly reduced the price, purchasing at 49,000 VND/kg.

After decreasing by 2,000 VND/kg, Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai are maintaining at 48,000 VND/kg.

* According to the General Department of Customs, imports of animal feed and main raw materials to Vietnam in September reached 796.5 million USD, down 16.7% compared to August, but up 3.7% compared to the same period last year. Of which, imports of animal feed and raw materials reached 420.11 million USD, down 23.5% compared to August, up 2.1% compared to the same period last year; corn imports reached more than 1.16 million tons, worth 318.12 million USD, up 8.0% in volume, down 5.1% in value compared to August; soybean imports reached more than 97 thousand tons, worth more than 58 million USD, down sharply 41.6% in volume and 39.7% in value compared to August.

In the first 9 months of 2023, Vietnam spent nearly 6.8 billion USD on importing animal feed and key ingredients, down 8% over the same period in 2022.
