In 2023, Microsoft unexpectedly stopped producing PC accessories and peripherals, instead focusing on investing in the Surface brand. Recently, the American software giant decided to return to this market through cooperation with manufacturer Incase.
Microsoft Decides to Partner with Incase to Produce PC Accessories and Peripherals |
On January 18, 2024, Onward Brands, owner of the Incase, Incipio, Griffin and Survivor brands, signed a partnership agreement with Microsoft, under which Microsoft will resume manufacturing the entire product line for PC under the Incase sub-brand.
The deal also covers accessories and peripherals developed by Microsoft but never put into production.
“The products will be identical, but instead of saying Microsoft, they'll say 'Incase, designed by Microsoft,'” Onward Brands CEO Charlie Tebele said.
There will now be 23 Microsoft products added to the company's product portfolio and will be available in the market in the second quarter of 2024.
Charlie Tebele also said that Microsoft still retains ownership of its products and may renew the license for Incase or revoke it in the future.
