According to Hanoi Metro, in 2024, the company operated over 109,000 trains, ensuring absolute safety, with an on-time train rate of 99.8%.
Total passenger volume reached over 14.8 million. Of which, route 2A, Cat Linh - Ha Dong transported over 11.8 million passengers, equal to 109.72% compared to the implementation in 2023, transporting an average of over 32,900 passengers/day.
Hanoi Metro held a conference to summarize production and business activities in 2024 and deploy the plan for 2025.
Line 3.1, Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station (elevated section) started operating from August 8, 2024, and has been widely supported by the public. On average, it transports over 18,000 passengers per day. Passengers using monthly tickets reached nearly 60% and continued to grow.
Notably, Hanoi Metro aims to operate 81,345 trains on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong line in 2025, an increase of 0.37% compared to 2024. Passenger volume is expected to reach over 12.7 million, an increase of 7.4% compared to 2024.
With the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station route (elevated section), it is expected to operate 80,000 trains; the expected passenger volume is over 6.5 million.
On this occasion, Hanoi Metro leaders also presented gifts to officials and workers in difficult circumstances.
Chairman of the Board of Directors - General Director of Hanoi Metro Khuat Viet Hung said that the passenger volume of both urban railway lines in 2024 is not as expected.
In 2025, Hanoi Metro will pay more attention to communications, promote cashless payments, build the Hanoi Metro app... to increase convenience for passengers, and facilitate management and operations.
"We will coordinate with the Hanoi Department of Transport and bus units, providing smart transportation services (Xanh SM, Grab, Be...) to review and adjust routes, enhance connections to increase convenience, thereby attracting people to use the service.
In addition, operational safety must be the number 1 priority, Hanoi Metro will also strengthen training, develop human resources, ensure policies and regimes for employees; create a breakthrough in science and technology development, comprehensive digital transformation of the company...", Mr. Khuat Viet Hung affirmed.
Ready to serve passengers during Tet
To meet the increased travel demand during the Lunar New Year and major holidays, Hanoi Metro has made detailed plans to ensure adequate facilities and resources for safe and smooth operations. The company has also stepped up regular inspections of trains, infrastructure systems and equipment to ensure the highest quality of operations. Train routes will operate at maximum capacity during peak times to meet passenger travel needs.
In addition, Hanoi Metro continues to implement key investment projects to upgrade and expand the urban railway system. The project to install a platform barrier system on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong line, starting at the end of 2024 and expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025, is one of the efforts to improve safety and experience for passengers.
