At the meeting, the Prime Minister and Mr. Nick Clegg discussed the future of innovation, including the latest trends in artificial intelligence (AI); cooperation between Meta and Vietnamese partners, focusing on innovation, AI and digital economic growth.

Mr. Nick Clegg highly appreciated the Vietnamese Government's data strategy. Vietnam has a good education and training foundation with a population of 100 million people, young, dynamic, and proficient in technology.

Expressing that it was an honor to participate in Vietnam's "Innovation Challenge" program, Mr. Nick Clegg shared about his cooperation and investment plans in Vietnam.
In particular, Meta will expand production of Meta's latest mixed reality device - Quest 3S in Vietnam by 2025. This is expected to create about 1,000 jobs in Vietnam, while also showing Meta's trust in Vietnam's human resources.

Request Meta to support Vietnamese businesses to participate in online applications
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that Vietnam wishes to continue promoting and deepening relations with the US in all fields, especially when the two countries establish a comprehensive strategic partnership.
With the viewpoint of valuing investors and creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to succeed in the spirit of "harmonizing interests and sharing risks", the Prime Minister suggested that Meta Group continue to discuss with Vietnamese agencies and partners to implement projects.
Including specific cooperation in the fields of: science - technology, education - training, innovation, AI, Internet of Things (IoT) ...; technology transfer, continued support for Vietnamese businesses, organizations and individuals to participate in the value chain and online platforms and applications of Meta.
At the same time, Meta needs to cooperate with Vietnamese authorities to prevent bad, toxic, and false information; deploy solutions and measures to protect users on social networks, and prevent online fraud...
He said that Vietnam is currently developing a Data Law and building a National Data Center. Building open institutions, transparent infrastructure and smart governance will facilitate innovation and technology businesses.
Regarding some of the contents discussed and proposed by Meta, the Prime Minister suggested continuing to closely coordinate with Vietnamese authorities to research and resolve.
Founded in 2004 in the US, originally named Facebook, Meta is a large multinational technology corporation in the world. Meta develops and operates on online platforms and applications such as Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp... Meta has nearly 71,000 employees worldwide, with revenue in 2023 reaching 134 billion USD.
Starting operations in Vietnam since 2015, Meta has coordinated with ministries and branches to implement many cooperation activities in the fields of digital economy and innovation.
