On September 30, Phu Quoc City Police said that they had just invited relevant people to work and return the child to his biological parents.
According to the police, on September 24, a woman (29 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City) gave her 10-month-old child to a strange couple (living in Phu Quoc) to adopt.
On September 27, after the woman's family discovered the incident, they went to Tan Thuan Tay Ward Police (HCMC) to report the incident.
According to her family, this woman suffered from postpartum depression and was mentally unstable.
According to initial information, this woman learned about the infertile couple's intention to adopt her child from a group on Facebook.
Through investigation, Tan Thuan Tay Ward Police determined that the child's adoptive family was temporarily residing in Phu Quoc City.
Upon receiving the information, Phu Quoc City Police organized a review and screening of infertile couples in the area to find adoption cases. After verifying the information, the authorities mobilized the family to hand over the baby to its biological mother.
