On February 26, two commercial aircraft C919 and ARJ21 of the Chinese aircraft manufacturer landed safely at Van Don International Airport, starting the series of exhibition and demonstration events Comac Airshow for the first time in Vietnam, taking place from February 27 to 29.
According to the organizers, after participating in the Singapore Airshow 2024, the pair of Chinese C919 and ARJ21 aircraft flew directly to Van Don International Airport to continue participating in the exhibition and demonstration of aircraft of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac).
The C919 and ARJ21-700 are the first two civil aircraft in China designed and manufactured by Comac, of which the ARJ21-700 is a twin-engine jet with a maximum of 90 seats, and the C919 is a narrow-body passenger aircraft with a maximum of 192 seats.
It is worth mentioning that the C919 was first widely introduced at international exhibitions as well as in Vietnam. According to the published images, the C919 has a seat configuration similar to the Boeing 737 Max and Airbus A320/321 models. This aircraft has put China on the list of few countries that can design and manufacture aircraft themselves, including: the US, Russia, Brazil, Canada, the UK, France and Germany.

Mr. Hoang Van Dung - Deputy Director of Van Don International Airport - said that the Comac aircraft exhibition and demonstration event affirmed its position as the first and leading private airport in Vietnam - a place with full infrastructure to organize major aviation events worldwide.
The event will create the premise for the exploitation of commercial flights from Chinese provinces and cities to Quang Ninh province and in the immediate future from Shantou city (a coastal city in Guangdong province, China) to Van Don (Quang Ninh).
