(CLO) At least one person was killed on Monday after a mid-sized commercial plane skidded off the runway while landing at Scottsdale Airport in the US state of Arizona and collided with another parked plane.
At least four other people were injured in the crash, Scottsdale Fire Department spokesman Dave Folio said at a news conference.
He said one person was still trapped inside one of the planes and efforts were underway to rescue them, while three others had been taken to area hospitals.

The incident comes at a time when US aviation safety is under scrutiny, following a series of recent serious aircraft incidents in the country.
National Transportation Safety Board investigators are looking into three deadly crashes in recent weeks: a midair collision between a passenger plane and a military helicopter in Washington, DC that killed 67 people, a medical plane crash in Philadelphia that killed seven people, and a plane crash in Alaska that killed 10 people.
