Propaganda content on: Law on Gender Equality; Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence; the role of women in various fields...
Typically, in Binh Gia district, in recent years, the Women's Union at all levels in the district has increased the organization of policy dialogue conferences at the commune and village level with the participation of a large number of cadres, members and women. Ms. Pham Thi Thuong, President of the Women's Union of Binh Gia district shared that implementing Project 8, from 2021 to present, we have organized gender equality propaganda in many forms such as: distributing leaflets, hanging banners, slogans, integrating into union activities, giving talks on topics... In particular, every year there are large-scale district-level communication activities responding to the peak month of action for gender equality and prevention of domestic violence, attracting a large number of members and people to participate. Before the propaganda sessions, we conduct surveys and select core issues suitable for each target and locality, focusing on propaganda to change thinking and ways of doing things, contributing to eliminating prejudices and gender stereotypes in families and communities, and cultural practices that are harmful to women and children.
In Huu Lung district, implementing Project 8, the Thanh Son Commune Women's Union has coordinated with agencies and units to establish 3 community communication teams in 3 villages: Thong Nhat, Dien Tren and Dien Duoi to propagate to people to change their thinking and working style as well as eliminate gender prejudices, customs and habits that are harmful to women and children in the area. To protect the rights of women and children, in addition to establishing community communication teams, the Commune Women's Union has focused on organizing dialogues between local Party committees and authorities with women in the commune.
Ms. Duong Thi Ninh, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Thanh Son Commune, said: The whole commune currently has 743 households, with 3,376 people, of which more than 90% are ethnic minorities. The establishment of community communication teams has brought positive results. Through community communication teams, people can better understand knowledge about gender equality, the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, the Law on Children... so that people can better implement the State's policies and laws on women and children.
According to the assessment of the Women's Union of Lang Son province, after nearly 4 years of implementing Project 8, it has brought many practical benefits to ethnic minority women and children in the province. The goals and contents of Project 8 have basically met and exceeded the planned targets. In the coming time, the Provincial Women's Union will continue to direct all levels of the Union to maintain and establish models according to the targets until 2025. These include new models such as establishing village savings and loan groups; supporting livelihood groups with women as owners or co-owners to apply 4.0 technology in production and market connection; organizing policy dialogues at the commune and village level in extremely difficult areas; improving the capacity of ethnic minority female cadres at the district and commune levels... Thereby striving to achieve and exceed the targets of Project 8 in the period of 2021 - 2025.
