The program was implemented by Larue Beer, a brand of HEINEKEN Vietnam Brewery Company Limited, to support Tien Giang people facing the shortage of domestic water due to the impact of natural disasters and saltwater intrusion. The program supported 640,000 liters of domestic water for people in 8 communes: Tan Thoi, Phu Thanh, Phu Tan, Phu Dong in Tan Phu Dong district and Tan Dong, Gia Thuan, Binh Nghi, Tan Dien communes in Go Cong Dong district, Tien Giang province.
Under the prolonged hot weather and the severe impact of saltwater intrusion during the recent dry season, Tien Giang residents have faced many challenges due to the scarcity of domestic water. In the face of this urgent situation, the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee has decided to declare an emergency situation regarding saltwater intrusion and called for measures to respond, overcome and limit the consequences caused by natural disasters.
During 16 days from April 17 to May 13, the program coordinated 64 tanker trucks carrying a total of 640,000 liters of domestic water to the people.
With a commitment to always accompany the people and community here, the brand quickly coordinated with the Tien Giang provincial government to organize the program "Larue brings domestic water to Tien Giang" to join hands to support local people facing difficulties due to the prolonged dry season.
Specifically, in 16 days from April 17 to May 13, the program coordinated 64 tanker trucks carrying a total of 640,000 liters of clean water to people in 8 communes in Go Cong Dong and Tan Phu Dong districts of Tien Giang province. Particularly for households located deep in the area where tankers cannot reach, the elderly, the lonely or those in special circumstances, Larue Beer employees personally brought cans of water to the place to support, share and encourage the spirit of the people when they are going through a difficult time. In addition to the large volunteer participation of employees, this meaningful activity also had the support of local authorities and partners.
The program places the commitment to accompany the local people as one of the top priorities in the brand's development strategy. Through the charity trips, the program hopes to share some of the difficulties of Tien Giang during the drought days, giving strength to the local people and authorities in the face of urgent natural disasters.
