According to The Sun, billionaire Jim Ratcliffe (who spent £1.3 billion to buy 25% of Man Utd's shares) is not satisfied with the current squad of the "Red Devils" and he decided to change the squad in 2024.

Next summer, eight Man Utd stars will be out of contract but will not be offered new deals, including centre-back Victor Lindelof, striker Anthony Martial, defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, centre-back Jonny Evans and goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

Midfielder Sofyan Amrabat and defender Sergio Reguilon, who are on loan, will have to return to their home clubs.

Notably, in addition to the 8 players whose contracts have expired, 7 stars who still have contracts will be put up for sale by Man Utd to supplement the "Red Devils" transfer budget.

Jadon Sancho is likely to be the first name to be cleared early, as the English striker has been exiled by coach Erik Ten Hag at Man Utd for a long time. Juventus and clubs in Saudi Arabia are said to be interested in this 23-year-old striker.

Meanwhile, former Real Madrid duo Raphael Varane and Casemiro are both said to be likely to leave after a serious decline in form due to constant injuries.

Notably, despite their excellent performances this season, centre-back Harry Maguire and midfielder Scott McTominay were also released next year. Finally, striker Antony and midfielder Donny van de Beek were the two names that had to leave because they could not adapt to the Premier League style of play.

Man Utd at risk of being banned from Champions League next season

According to the Dailymail, billionaire Jim Ratcliffe owns the French football team Nice and has spent an additional £1.3 billion to own 25% of Man Utd's shares.

However, according to UEFA regulations, a person can be the owner of many teams at the same time but only one Champions League spot is given to the highest ranked team that person owns.

This means that if both Man Utd and billionaire Jim Ratcliffe's Nice finish in the Champions League next season in the Premier League and Ligue 1 respectively, the team with the higher ranking will be allowed to participate in the most prestigious continental club competition, while the other team will be banned from competing in the European Cup, meaning they will not be able to participate in both the Europa League and the Conference League.

Currently, Man Utd is ranked 6th in the Premier League with 21 points, while Nice is ranked 2nd in Ligue 1 with 26 points. Thus, the risk of Man Utd being banned from playing in the Champions League is not small.
