Hawthorn flowers have 5 petals, yellow pistils, and grow easily on barren land. Because they can withstand wind, frost, and heavy rain, this plant even symbolizes the tenacious and resilient vitality of the Northwest highlands.

Nam Nghiep village, Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district has thousands of hawthorn trees planted by the locals for many years. The beauty of hawthorn flowers is likened to a Mong girl in the mountainous region, natural, simple, and full of vitality.
