During the historic days of July, we visited the Provincial Nursing Center for the Meritorious in Sa Pa town. From early morning, Mr. Dinh Manh Hung, Director of the Center, along with staff and employees, were present at the gate to welcome the group of people with meritorious services to the revolution in Vinh Phuc province for periodic nursing care. The handshakes, affectionate smiles, and thoughtful questions from everyone seemed to dispel the tiredness of the wounded and sick soldiers after a journey of hundreds of kilometers.

Our first impression when arriving at the center was the spacious and modern infrastructure system, demonstrating the concern of the Party Committee, the government, and the whole society for people with meritorious services. With an area of over 10,000 m2, the center has 1 operating house, 4 resorts, and 1 multi-purpose area. Currently, the center has a total of 71 rooms with 142 beds. All rooms are clean, neat, tidy, fully equipped, and regularly cleaned by staff.

In addition to providing 24/7 health care and monitoring for the meritorious, the center has invested in modern physical therapy and rehabilitation equipment, such as full body massage chairs, foot massage machines, foot bath machines, mechanical physical therapy machines, exercise machines, etc. Along with that, the center has created a menu with many dishes that ensure quality, quantity and food hygiene and safety. Doctor Pham Tuan Vu, in charge of the center's cafeteria, said: From the stage of selecting food to the stage of processing, everything is focused on, suitable for the taste of each group of subjects, with high nutritional content. The kitchen also changes the menu for each meal, has a diet according to the requirements of the meritorious...

At the age of 76, war invalid Do Cong Tung (Vinh Tuong, Vinh Phuc) is still very alert and healthy. Mr. Tung said this was his 8th time going for a medical treatment, but it was the first time he came to the Sa Pa Nursing Center for Meritorious People. When we arrived here, we were warmly welcomed, it was truly like going on a vacation, Mr. Tung confided.

Although they both studied medicine, serving wounded and sick soldiers at the Nursing Center for the Meritorious is completely different from that of doctors and nurses working in hospitals. Here, in addition to examining and providing first aid to wounded and sick soldiers, the main task of the medical staff is to care for and nurture them. Depending on the injuries and illnesses of each wounded and sick soldier and the personality of each person, the staff must understand in order to provide appropriate care and service.

Every staff member of Sa Pa Nursing Center for the Meritorious is dedicated to the work of caring for and nursing the health of the meritorious.

Doctor Dinh Van Dat has been working in the medical field for 11 years, taking care of wounded and sick soldiers at the center. He said: Due to the nature of the work, most of the nurses are old and in poor health, so in performing their duties here, in addition to a sense of responsibility, each officer and employee must always uphold their moral character, focus on professional training, and cultivate ethics to have appropriate behavior in their work.

During the nursing period, the meritorious person can participate in many activities to improve health and spirit.

“Participating in the convalescence sessions, I not only received health care but also had the opportunity to learn about the lives and health of my teammates. Not only did we enjoy care and physical therapy, we also participated in cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities,” said disabled soldier Nguyen Van Ngo (Vinh Phuc city).

Since the beginning of the year, the Lao Cai Province Nursing Center for Meritorious People has welcomed 5 nursing sessions with nearly 500 meritorious people and their relatives inside and outside the province. Every year, the center develops a detailed nursing plan; coordinates with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of districts, towns and cities to directly pick up and drop off meritorious people for nursing; organizes cultural, artistic and sports exchanges, and visits to famous landscapes and landscapes in Sa Pa town. At the end of the nursing session, the center holds a meeting to summarize experiences and give gifts to meritorious people for nursing...

The health and longevity of the meritorious people are increased and illnesses are reduced, which is the motivation for the cadres, civil servants and employees of the Lao Cai Province Nursing Center for Meritorious People to make more efforts.
