The film "Mai" won big at the 2024 Golden Kite Awards in many categories: Outstanding Feature Film, Outstanding Actress, Outstanding Screenplay and Outstanding Art Design.
On the evening of September 10, at the Do Theater, Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa Province), the Golden Kite Awards Ceremony 2024 took place with the theme "Brilliant Galaxy" co-organized by the Vietnam Cinema Association and the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan attended.
The 2024 Golden Kite Awards received 163 entries, including 18 feature films, 18 television series, 41 documentaries, 18 scientific films, 14 animated films, 50 short films, and 4 research and critical theory works.
Notably, the award for Best Feature Film went to "Mai" by director Tran Thanh; "Gap em ngay nang" by director Nguyen Duc Hieu won the award for Best Television Feature Film. The award for Best Debut Feature Film went to "Hai Muoi" by director Nguyen Thanh Vinh.
In the individual category, actress Phuong Anh Dao (as Mai, movie "Mai") and Meritorious Artist Quyen Linh (as Hai Muoi, movie "Hai Muoi") won the awards for Best Actress in a Feature Film and Best Actor in a Feature Film, respectively.
The awards for Best Actor/Actress in a TV Drama went to Duy Hung (as Tri, "Nguoi mot nha") and Thanh Huong (as Luyen, "Cuoc doi van dep sao").
Actors To Dung and Thanh Quy won the awards for Best Supporting Actor/Actress in a TV Series. The awards for Best Supporting Actor/Actress in a Movie went to Cong Duong and People's Artist Hong Van. The awards for Promising Actor/Actress in a Movie went to Trung Kien and Anh Dao.
The award for Most Favorite TV Drama Actor/Actress voted by the audience (on the Tiktok platform) went to Le Xuan Anh (Le Bong) and Tran Nghia. This is the first year that the Golden Kite has included this category in the award system.
In addition, other films won gold awards, such as: "Wooden Fish" (short film), "Why Son Doong" (scientific film), "Linh Anh" (documentary), "Dinh Tien Hoang De" (animated film).
The Organizing Committee also awarded gold prizes for screenwriters, directors, and cinematographers of television series; prizes for cinematography, art design, music, and sound design of feature films; prizes for screenwriters and directors of feature films; and prizes for theoretical research and film criticism.
At the award ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented 100 million VND to people affected by storm No. 3. On behalf of the government and people of Khanh Hoa province, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan presented 10 billion VND to people in the North who suffered heavy losses due to the storm.
