The People's Committee of Hai Duong province has just sent a document to the Railway Project Management Board, Ministry of Transport on unifying some contents of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh railway project through the area.
Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee requested the Railway Project Management Board to re-examine the longitudinal survey plan for the above-ground section through the expanded Phuc Dien Industrial Park and the plan to restore the overpass and arrange a railway access road for this industrial park, ensuring the safety of the railway when put into operation and use.
Research and adjust the route plan to ensure minimizing the land fund between the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh railway route and the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway and Hai Duong City Ring Road II, in order to increase land use efficiency and avoid land waste.
Railway route Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh.
It is necessary to adjust the railway route to ensure it does not overlap with the boundary of Hoang Dieu Industrial Park (Gia Loc district).
Calculate, design and invest in the construction of roads connecting to stations in the project, especially roads from Hai Duong Specialized Economic Zone connecting to stations, to promote synchronous exploitation and develop multimodal transport.
Giving the reason for the proposal to adjust the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh railway route, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province said that it is to ensure no overlap with industrial parks, reduce interleaved land, avoid land waste, limit the impact on the connectivity of traffic infrastructure in industrial parks, increase efficiency, and avoid waste.
Previously, the Vietnam Railway Authority submitted to the Ministry of Transport for consideration and submission to competent authorities for appraisal and approval of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh railway route planning with a planned length of 447km, track gauge of 1.43m, passing through 10 provinces and cities, requiring an investment capital of more than 183,000 billion VND.
According to the investment roadmap for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh railway line, by 2030, the single-track, electrified, 1.43m-gauge section of Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong will basically be completed.
Of which, the section through Hai Duong is about 41 km long, passing through 5 districts including Tu Ky (about 11.2 km), Gia Loc (about 10.5 km), Binh Giang (about 9.3 km), Thanh Ha (about 7.9 km), Cam Giang (about 2.6 km).
Specifically, the route starts from the border with Hung Yen province, crosses National Highway 38, avoids Dong Giao residential area (Cam Giang district), crosses Cam Dien - Luong Dien industrial park, crosses National Highway 5 and Sat river, then enters the planned railway axis through the expanded Phuc Dien industrial park, to the location of Binh Giang station.
Leaving Binh Giang station, the route goes southeast via provincial roads 395 and 394 across Dinh Dao river to Yet Kieu commune (Gia Loc district) and to Hai Duong Nam station.
Hai Duong Station has been invested and upgraded to ensure the needs of transportation exploitation and connection on the entire Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line.
The route continues to follow and run parallel to the north of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, crosses National Highway 38B, the intersection of National Highway 38B with the access road to the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway and National Highway 37. Then, the route turns left to create a curve over the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, continues to follow and run parallel to the south of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, crosses Provincial Road 391 to Tu Ky station.
Leaving Tu Ky station, the route continues to follow and run parallel to the south of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway through Thanh Ha district to the end of Hai Duong province.
Along with that, the project passing through Hai Duong province will be planned with 3 stations.
Specifically, Binh Giang station is located in Hung Thang commune, a mixed station for passenger and cargo operations, with a scale of 6 pick-up and drop-off lanes; 1 loading and unloading lane, with an area of about 10.5 hectares. In the future, it is proposed to build it into an international transit station.
Hai Duong Nam Station is planned in Gia Loc town, south of Cham village, Yet Kieu commune, north of Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway and Ring Road II (Hai Duong city) as a mixed station for passenger and cargo operations. The scale is 7 pick-up and drop-off lanes, 2 loading and unloading lanes, with an area of about 10.5 hectares.
Tu Ky Station in Chi Minh Commune is a technical station with a bypass. The scale is 3 pick-up and drop-off lines, with an area of about 5.3 hectares. In the future, when the railway line is completed with double tracks, it will be considered for conversion into a freight station.
