The final night of the Leeds International Piano Competition 2024 took place at the ancient concert hall St. George's Hall, central Bradford, West Yorkshire (UK) on the evening of September 21.
Luong Khanh Nhi performed Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major with the orchestra. Previously, on the evening of September 20, three contestants competed first.
As a result, Canadian contestant Jaeden Izik-Dzurko won first prize - gold medal. Chinese Junyan Chen won second prize - silver medal. And Luong Khanh Nhi won third prize - bronze medal.
Dang Thai Son's student Kai-Min Chang (Taiwan, China) won fourth prize, Julian Trevelyan (England) won fifth prize.

In addition, the organizers also awarded a number of additional prizes. Kai-Min Chang was awarded the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society Prize. Second prize winner - silver medalist Junyan Chen received an additional award, the Alexandra Dariescu Prize.
After the final, the three first, second and third prize winners, Izik-Dzurko, Junyan Chen and Luong Khanh Nhi, will each have a private performance at the Liverpool City Theatre.
Leeds International Piano Competition is ranked 5th among the 10 most prestigious international piano competitions in the world.
Luong Khanh Nhi is the first Vietnamese person to enter the finals of this competition and won a bronze medal.
Since Dang Thai Son's first prize at the 1980 Chopin Piano Competition, Luong Khanh Nhi's achievement is the greatest.
Mr. Luong Thang - Luong Khanh Nhi's father - said that right after the award announcement, Luong Khanh Nhi received many invitations to perform in England as well as Europe.

Luong Khanh Nhi is doing her PhD in music in the US.
Luong Khanh Nhi was born in 1996 into a musical family in Hanoi.
She started studying piano at the age of 4. After graduating from intermediate piano school in Vietnam, she went to Singapore to study at university and then to the US to study for her master's and doctorate.
In 2014, she won a full scholarship to study at the Graz University of the Arts in Austria, being the only candidate from Southeast Asia selected after rigorous selections organized by ASIA-Uninet and OeAD.

During her time in Austria, Luong Khanh Nhi had many performances in Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Luong Khanh Nhi has won famous competitions such as the Yong Siew Toh Concerto Competition, the Lee University International Piano Competition, the MTNA National Piano Competition, and the Sicily International Piano Competition.
She is currently pursuing a doctorate in musical arts at the University of Michigan (USA) under the guidance of Professor Christopher Harding.
